How to Cleanse & Charge Your Crystal Bracelet: 6 Simple Ways

Many crystal lovers believe that crystals absorb energy — and that over time, they need a little "reset." Whether you follow that tradition or just want to keep your bracelet clean and beautiful, cleansing and charging is a simple, calming ritual. Here are 6 easy ways.

1. Moonlight (The Classic)

Place your bracelet on a windowsill or balcony under full moonlight overnight. It's the gentlest, most popular method — ideal for all stones, especially ones like black obsidian that shouldn't get wet.

2. Smoke Cleansing

Pass your bracelet through the smoke of incense, sage or palo santo for 10-20 seconds. This pairs beautifully with the incense culture behind our crystal + incense bracelets.

3. Running Water (Not for All Stones)

Hold under cool running water for a minute, then dry with a soft cloth. Skip this for soft or porous stones — jade, tiger eye and others are better cleansed by moonlight or smoke.

4. Rice or Earth

Bury your bracelet in a small bowl of dry rice or in clean soil for a few hours to "ground" its energy. Rinse the rice afterward (don't reuse it).

5. Sound

Use a singing bowl, bell or chime near your bracelet for 1-2 minutes. The vibration is said to clear and reset the stone.

6. Intention

Hold the bracelet in your hands, take three breaths, and set a clear intention ("I charge this for calm / love / protection"). Intention is the heart of the practice.

How Often Should You Cleanse?

  • When you first receive it (important!)
  • After heavy wear, stressful days, or emotional events
  • Roughly every 2-4 weeks for everyday pieces

Keep the Bracelet Itself in Great Shape

Cleansing is about energy, but physical care matters too — water, sweat and heat affect natural stones. Our care guide for natural bracelets explains how to keep natural beads and stones looking great for years.
